Robby Dalton is the perfect all-American boy. He played the sports his father chose for him in high school, attended the college his father selected, and has worked hard to conform to his father's macho views. But emotionally, he doesn't fit anywhere, and he can't connect with a woman beyond a few uninspired dates.

Robby's not in the closet, because he's never guessed he's gay. Now he owns a small commercial construction company, and one night after work, he runs into Savannah Meyers. He finds her fascinating and agrees to a date, thinking maybe this woman would be different.

But Savannah has her own agenda. She is looking for a love match for her roommate, Tristan Chartrand, whom she rescued from the streets years ago. He's like a brother, and her only family, so she wants him safe and happy. Her plan seems to begin well, because when Robby meets Tristan, he's surprised to find it's Tristan he wants, not Savannah.

But some people in Robby's life don't approve of Tristan's lowly station in life, and some don't approve of Robby being gay. Some people are full of hate and violence, and Robby and Tristan will need courage and strength if a loving future is to be part of the deal.

I took me a while to get into this book. The package involves Tristan (who has a horrific abusive past and was on the streets; Savannah (who had a child neglect and endangerment past and was on the streets but protected by Tristan); and Robby (who came from a 'normal' home but had internal scars that he didn't recognise). Robby is a contractor who has Mikey (his friend) as his assistant. That is a truly dysfunctional relationship that the two have sustained for a decade. Robby meets Savannah (Savi) in a diner and they decide to spend time together. But Savi loves Tristan and if Robby is to be involved with her he therefore must be involved with Tristan. The hows and the whys are explained and the story unfurls slowly - we spend time with each main character from their perspective. The three call themselves partners, but only two of them become sexually involved. Mikey is sidelined and doesn't like that, he is attached to Robby (for free meals, food, coffee and company) and won't give it up easily. The lengths he goes to are shocking.
This book reminds me of 'Out of the Blackness' by Carter Quinn - which I rate more highly than 'A Package Deal'.
This is a good read but a lot of it, despite descriptions and back story, seems superficial and skating on the surface.

A Package Deal (Audible Audio Edition) Mia Kerick Sean Michael Hogan Dreamspinner Press LLC Books Reviews

I loved this book from start to finish. The MCs story lines are well thought out and offer enough depth to really allow the reader to take the journey with them. Tristan is such a sweet and loving man that has really been kicked around by life and yet still finds the strength (with a lot of help from Savannah) to fall in love with Robby. Robby and Tristan make a sweet and endearing couple and I thoroughly enjoyed their story.
This book is definitely not your cookie-cutter M/M romance. I don't want to give away the storyline, so I'll just say there are some complicated and interesting relationships involved that the author handles beautifully. The character development is superb, and I found myself really caring about the struggles that each of the main characters had endured in the past and rooting for them to be able to move past it all and find happiness. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, even though I was stressed by not knowing quite how it was all going to work out. Am very glad I read it.
The book was slow and ponderous with multiple points of view. Full of angst and I just couldn't get into it.
I enjoyed this story very much. The trails of the characters were very heart warming and made you pull for the good guy.
This is the story of three tortured souls; two of them from a homeless, abusive past, and the third a businessman who is perhaps the most troubled.

Robby meets Savannah and finds she has an ulterior motive for her interest in him. She has a closer-than-close relationship with Tristan, a waiter with a sad past. Savannah goes about setting the two up though Robby hasn't yet acknowledged his homosexuality. She sees something in Robby that she feels will help Tristan trust again. But at every turn, be it from an unaccepting father to his crude best friend, Robby fights for his growing feelings for Tristan.

Written with great love and fade-to-black sexual encounters, A Package Deal is one sweet love story. Not only about the relationship between two lovers, but also the importance of family, whether bound by blood or perhaps something stronger. Mia Kerick is definitely an author to watch!
Development was slow but overall a good book. Could have used a little more background information on Savannah and Tristan but the lack of background did not take away from the growing romance. The supposed best friend could have been kicked to the curb sooner but I did love Mom's reply that her son had finely grown up.
Weird, strange, creepy and non-sensical. I wish I could be more kind, but it just never made any sense and I really, really didn't like it. It was almost a m/m/f menage book, except there was no sex with the woman. It just kept getting weirder and weirder.

I don't recommend it and I wish I had read the reviews before I bought it.
